Dylan Newcomb has spent the last ten years researching and developing new ways to blend the movement arts with elements from other fields such as Yin-Yang Theory, Energy Psychology, MBTI Typology, contemporary Integral Theory (Ken Wilber et al) and Spiral Dynamics (Clare Graves) to form new conceptual models and trainings for both personal development, social activism, and the arts. He teaches a full mind-body approach to personal development in workshops around the world to people from all walks of life, as well as to professional artists at top conservatories in The Netherlands and abroad.
Next to his activities researching and teaching, Dylan has until recently been a core faculty member of the School of Synnervation - a training organization of the Dutch branch of the Center of Human Emergence; he is a founding member of Danslab - an institute for dance-based research in The Hague; and he serves on the board of the Todays Art festival.
Dylan was raised on a farm in mid-coast Maine, USA and trained at the Juilliard School in both dance and music composition, after which he moved to the Netherlands, where he danced for eight seasons with the Netherlands Dance Theater. For the next eight years, he choreographed and composed Dance-Theater productions, largely through the Korzo Theater in Den Haag. He has won several major Dutch awards for his art, including the Lucas Hoving production prize, the Silver Dance Prize, and the Phillip Morris Prize. Newcomb’s choreographies, from solos to large group works, have been shown throughout Europe, Asia and America. A long time practitioner of Buddhist Vipassana meditation and several styles of Yoga, Dylan is certified in Psych-K and HBLU. Additionally, he maintains a private practice as using UZAZU together with Energy Psychology, to assisting people to make significant breakthroughs on the mental, emotional, and physical levels. He currently spends much of the year teaching workshops and seminars in UZAZU around the world.
